Our Team

wideStreet’s team, led by Dr Bernd Schmid and Ksenia Gräfin von Bassewitz, is made up of passionate and entrepreneurial individuals with years of experience from a broad range of relevant industries and backgrounds.

Dr Bernd Schmid

With a Doctor of Economics (PhD) and a Master of Science (MSc) in Mathematics, Bernd is an experienced Managing Director with a demonstrated history of working in senior sales and business development roles in the financial services and fintech industries.

He is skilled in capital markets, portfolio & risk management, performance measurement and attribution, structured products & derivatives, securitization and regulation.


Ksenia Gräfin von Bassewitz

Ksenia is a German attorney (Rechtsanwältin) and a Russian qualified lawyer experienced in German and European capital markets and banking supervisory law, including i.a. licensing, own funds/large exposure issues, bank resolution and recovery regimes, securitization and compliance.

Your Position

This is an excellent opportunity to join the business development team of a young FinTech company.

You will be assisting in:

  • marketing activities
  • the acquisition of new clients (buyers, sellers and servicers)
  • the preparation of fact sheets, term sheets, models and analyses
  • the processing of transactions
  • the communication with clients and on-boarding of new customers

Your Background and Skills

We are looking for a passionate, motivated, analytical and well-structured student, who wants to become an integral part of our client-focused company. The ideal candidate has an outstanding academic track record in Business, Finance, Law or Mathematics with a strong focus on financial markets. Practical experiences from internships in the financial industry are a plus.

What you bring on board:

  • a good understanding of loan markets
  • keen interest in engaging with clients
  • a can-do mentality and ability to work independently
  • analytical skills and enthusiasm for working with numbers and Excel sheets
  • excellent communication skills
  • fluency in English and ideally in German
